JJ Typography (JJ Tintiangco | she/her) is a self-taught digital artist and product designer, celebrated for her expertise in typography, illustration, and user-centered design, with a focus on wellness and accessibility. A proud third-generation Filipina American 🇵🇭, JJ was born and raised on Kumeyaay Land (San Diego, CA), and her time living on Ohlone Land (San Francisco-Bay Area) during her undergraduate years deeply influenced her artistic vision. The diverse culture and vibrant creative community of the Bay Area sparked her passion for using design to foster inclusivity and inspire change.
JJ Typography brings her creative vision to life, using tools like Procreate, Canva, Figma, and the Adobe Suite to craft vibrant designs with powerful messages. JJ excels at combining bold, expressive typography with illustrations that not only catch the eye but resonate emotionally with diverse audiences. Her work often reflects themes of hip hop, social movements, ethnic studies, mental health, and self-love—creating designs that empower and inspire change.
In addition to her design practice, JJ co-founded The Art of Becoming LLC and co-authored and illustrated The Art of Becoming: Self-Loving Coloring Workbook, a tool aimed at supporting mental health and personal growth. With a background in ethnic studies and healthcare, JJ approaches design with empathy, inclusivity, and a commitment to wellness. Whether crafting user-centered digital experiences or leading design projects, her work aims to connect people, amplify voices, and make a lasting impact. JJ also mentors aspiring creatives, helping them find their unique voice and make a difference through their own art.
Outside of her professional life, JJ is fueled by adventures in the great outdoors, discovering new coffee shops, staying active, and immersing herself in creative environments.
