About me:
I'm JJ Typography (JJ Tintiangco | she/her), a self-taught digital artist, product designer, graphic designer, and mentor. I am a third-generation 🇵🇭Filipina American, born and raised on Kumeyaay Land (📍 San Diego, CA). I specialize in typography, illustration, and user-centered design, creating art that combines vibrant colors with impactful messages that resonate on an emotional level. My work is shaped by my family’s artistic legacy, California street art, and my time in San Francisco during my undergrad, often reflecting themes of hip hop, social movements, ethnic studies, mental health, and self-love. Over the years, I’ve taken on projects spanning digital art and product design, including redesigning workbooks, stickers, presentations, and other merchandise for non-profits and grassroots organizations. I've been mentoring emerging designers for the past four years and co-authored and illustrated The Art of Becoming: Self-Loving coloring workbook, co-founding The Art of Becoming LLC alongside my mentor and best friend. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me exploring coffee shops, spending time outdoors, or seeking out my next creative adventure.
